By EP |Santiago de Compostela |10/06/2022 |Updated at 6:17 p.m.The Xunta de Galicia is working on a tool to analyze the progress in Galicia of the 2030 Agenda, which will be made available to the central government.This was emphasized by the Minister for the Environment, Territory and Housing, Ángeles Vázquez, in her telematic speech at the Sector Conference for the 2030 Agenda.After assessing that many of the areas of the Galician Government "are already working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", Vázquez stressed the difficulty of assessing compliance with the Agenda when the UN does not set values ​​to be achieved by the indicators."The 2030 Agenda is a universal roadmap, so that some goals are of exclusively global application and from Galicia its contribution to its achievement must be clarified," he said.They indicate that the Minister has already made available to the Executive all the work done "for the next design of the Comprehensive System of Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development" - the roadmap to be followed by the State in this matter.Thus, the objectives sought by the report of the 2030 Agenda in Galicia are to know the goals set by the UN in terms of sustainable development;identify opportunities for improvement;and accountability to the citizenry.To this end, the Xunta has already drawn up two diagnostic documents on this matter and the indicators are now being reviewed.In the first, conducted in 2018, it studied the progress for 77 goals of the 169 proposed by the UN and covered the 17 SDGs, proposing a total of 161 indicators.The second analysis addressed the evolution of Galicia for 60 goals and covered the aforementioned 17 objectives, with a total proposal of 164 indicators.They also recall that the Xunta created in 2019 the Interdepartmental Commission for the monitoring of the 2030 Agenda and, under this umbrella, three working groups were created to structure and coordinate initiatives in the environmental, economic and social fields.If you have any problems or suggestions, write to webmaster@galiciaconfidencial.com indicating: operating system, browser (and versions).We appreciate your cooperation.
