TIM is preparing to extend the fixed network offer with which it allows you to test the XGS-PON technology up to 10 Gbps on the FTTH Fiber network, i.e. TIM Magnifica Experimentation, and also from 1 March 2022, subject to changes, some new features will be introduced in addition to the extension of coverage to new cities and to new areas for those already covered.Therefore, thanks to the TIM Magnifica offer, available in TIM stores, by calling 187 or through the official website of the operator (here is the direct link) requesting a free contact, the operator will continue to experiment with the XGS-PON technology, which allows to surf the FTTH Fiber network up to 10 Gbps even in symmetrical mode, that is, both in download and upload.Specifically, thanks to the new extension, it will be possible to join the trial until 31 August 2022, subject to any changes (currently the possibility of subscribing to TIM Magnifica Experimentation expired on 28 February 2022), without prejudice to the achievement of the limit threshold of 3000 customers before the maximum date of accession.The trial itself, on the other hand, will still last until September 26, 2022 (against the current deadline of March 26, 2022), except for any extensions or early closures that will be communicated to customers.We remind you that, as currently foreseen, at the end of the trial period, with the TIM Magnifica profile it will be possible to continue to use the offer at the same economic conditions and characteristics as signed, unless canceled by the customer.Starting from 1 March 2022, barring any changes, a novelty will also be introduced regarding the case history of the deactivation of the TIM Magnifica offer.Specifically, for new and old TIM Magnifica customers, there will be the possibility of requesting the switch to another operator (at no cost) or the switch to another TIM offer in FTTH technology up to 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps, in both. the cases keeping the numbering activated in the experimentation phase.Currently, however, only the termination of the experimental line is envisaged and the impossibility of reusing the numbering activated in the experimentation phase.As far as coverage is concerned, until now it was possible to activate TIM Magnifica Experimentation in a total of 11 cities, only in FTTH Fiber technology on the exchanges covered with XGS-PON technology in Taranto, Brindisi, Milan, Turin, Rome, Naples, Bologna, Florence, Trieste, Cagliari and Trento, precisely only in those where the asymmetric speed profile of 10 Gbps in download and 2 Gbps in upload is active and therefore only on certain street numbers.However, from March 1, 2022, coverage will be further expanded, both in the cities covered so far and in other municipalities.In particular, in the 11 cities already available, the TIM Magnifica Experimentation offer will be available in new areas, while the cities of Bari, Genoa, Palermo and Verona will also be added, again with limited coverage to some specific areas.In this way, TIM Magnifica Experimentation from 1 March 2022 will be activated in a total of 15 Italian cities.It should be noted that at the moment the details of which exactly are the new TIM exchanges enabled in the cities involved in the XGS-PON experiment are not available.For the rest, there will be no other news for TIM Magnifica Experimentation, which always provides for an ad hoc experimentation contract and allows you to activate only a new line in FTTH Fiber in XGS-PON technology with speeds up to 10 Gbps in download and up to 2 Gbps in upload, and pay-as-you-go calls to national fixed and mobile numbers (19 euro cents for connection and 19 euro cents per minute with 60-second advance increments).TIM Magnifica Experimentation has a cost of 49.90 euros per month (with domiciliation, otherwise 54.90 euros per month) and in addition, the TIM XGS-PON modem is always included in the free loan for use, which is equipped with ONT integrated.TIM Magnifica Experimentation also includes the technological solutions called TIM TS + (Wi-Fi 6 certified throughout the home, Safe Web Plus also extended to the family's SIM cards and the new WiFi Plus option, which will be available only later), the new services for assistance TIM Quality Care and TIM Prima Classe and finally also Magnifica Backup, which allows you to immediately surf the 4G network via an unlimited SIM and a 4G router.There is no cost for activation, deactivation, termination, transfer to another offer or to another operator for TIM Magnifica Experimentation.The costs of producing and sending a paper invoice will be equal to 3 euros and will be charged from the second invoice.According to what the operator reports on the dedicated page of his website, to make the most of the XGS-PON Fiber connection it is necessary to use a latest generation PC which, in the absence of a native 10 Gigabit electrical interface, has a USB port -C to connect the Thunderbolt 3 - Ethernet 10 Gbps electrical adapter, using a Cat 5e (length 1.5m) or Cat 6 LAN cable.
