ZTE, the world's leading provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and one of the leading smartphone vendors, recently unveiled a prototype ONU or Optical Network Unit compatible with 50-gigabit passive optical network technologies ( 50G PON) and Wi-Fi 7.As one of the main leaders in the sector, ZTE is committed to technological innovation with the aim of always being able to offer its customers all kinds of improvements in its services and in the products of its portfolio.ZTE's customer premises equipment (CPE) products have been deployed by more than 270 operators in more than 100 countries. The presentation was made at the FTTH Conference 2022 in Vienna, Austria, the largest fiber summit in the world and whose next edition is already scheduled for May 23-25, 2022 in the Austrian city. This prototype is the first in the industry and has been announced as the ZXHN F9746Q model.Recall that during the Mobile World Congress 2022 held in Barcelona, the company already presented its first accurate 50G PON prototype in the industry. This clearly reflects the company's capacity for innovation and its leadership position in fixed network products. The new model ZXHN F9746Q ONU uses asymmetric 50G PON technology on the network side, with the receiving speed reaching 50Gbps and the transmission speed reaching 25Gbps.For the user, the Optical Network Unit provides a 50G Ethernet optical port, which guarantees the high-speed access requirements of enterprises.Furthermore, the device is also equipped with a MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 7 chipset. As a result, it provides four spatial streams in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, respectively, allowing for a theoretical maximum rate of 19 Gbps and a four times increase in connection speed compared to Optical Network Units that only support the Wi-Fi 6 standard. With all this, the prototype now presented improves high-bandwidth multi-device connectivity, as well as low latency, low delay jitter and precise synchronization, which is what innovative services such as 5G, Cloud VR, telemedicine and intelligent manufacturing require. It also incorporates Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and Xtra Range technologies, owned by MediaTek.Subscribe to our mailing list and get interesting information and updates for your email inbox. We respect your privacy and take protection very seriously.
