The requirement for 1Gbps network speed means that the upgrade of hardware equipment is accelerated, including the PON OLT at the central office and the PON ONU CPE at the terminal.From the operator's procurement results, it is found that the specifications of OLT are still EPON and GPON at the same time, and comprehensively turn to 10G specifications.Operators also smoothly transition from GPON to 10G PON through Combo PON, and reduce the cost of infrastructure construction.The bidding result of PON ONU CPE echoes the situation of OLT, but it can be seen that in addition to upgrading the 10G specification, the ONU has also upgraded the Wi-Fi specification to Wi-Fi 6.On the whole, mainland China is gradually moving towards the 10G fixed network upgrade, laying the foundation for subsequent high-bandwidth applications.On the other hand, the development of 10G will continue to drive the advancement of the optical communication industry in mainland China.The PON ONU and OLT telecom tenders in 2021 are the same as in the past few years, and mainland Chinese manufacturers will gain a larger share.Under the training opportunities in the domestic market, whether it is CPE or upstream components, local players can obtain technical and financial support.However, in the OLT bid, only a few mainland Chinese companies have won the bid.Finally, Gigabit network access, in addition to an option for fiber access, Huawei has come up with a new product specification - FTTR all-optical networking.Except for the 10G and 1G specifications of the master and slave optical modems, PON ONUs are all mid-to-high-end products equipped with Wi-Fi 6.Huawei has also cooperated with builders to target well-earned communities to take the lead in promotion. These users may have a higher degree of acceptance of FTTR, and they may have a variety of connected devices at home, which may stimulate new network usage needs.On the other hand, in terms of equipment support for FTTR, the number of CPE equipment in households has also increased from "1" to "1+N".
